Angels and Airwaves

Angels & Airwaves is an American alternative rock band led by Tom DeLonge of former lead singer / guitarist of Blink 182. Other members were guitarist David Kennedy (from my body, Hazen Street and Box Car Racer), bass guitarist Matt Wachter (30 Seconds to Mars) and drummer Ilan Rubin (from Lostprophets and Nine Inch Nails). Former member of the original bass Ryan Sinn (formerly of The Distillers), who left the group in 2007 for reasons still unclear, as well as drummer Adam "Atom" Willard (formerly of The Offspring), a peaceful split with the band in 2011 after completing their fourth album.
AVA was formed after the split of Blink-182 in 2005, the band continued to record and tour again though Tom DeLonge started his career with Blink-182 in 2009. For five years AVA has become a very prolific band, has released four studio albums We Do not Need to Whisper (2006), I-Empire (2007), Love (2010) and Love: Part two (2011). The project also produced a documentary film From Machine (2008). In 2011, the group released their love of science fiction films, which accompanies the album and directed by William Eubank, in 460 theaters nationwide for their multimedia show, Love Live. Tom DeLonge said in an interview that the band was working on two new films with two studio albums.

Music history
Formation and initial formation: 2004-2005
Tom DeLonge began working on new material during the last tour of Blink-182 in 2004 and soon after they begin to break them in February 2005. For a half years, he worked alone in his home studio before gathering musicians to form bands. After fiddling randomly for several weeks to determine the logo of the band, DeLonge realizing that if he turned "A" middle band acronyms into what appears to be a "V", he will have the name of his daughter, Ava. As rumors about the band's "break-up", DeLonge chose to abstain for six months from the interview about this issue and future plans, but he concentrated on writing and recording in his home studio. In September 2005, he finally spoke publicly in Kerrang! magazine, where she launched the new name of his band Angels & Airwaves.
